Medication Change Comparison

Before: Amlodipina 10mg + Valsartan 160mg + Hidroclorotiazida 12.5mg
After: Amlodipina 10mg + Valsartan 160mg
Change (Feb 12): Removed Hidroclorotiazida 12.5mg (diuretic)
What am I looking at?

These cards show how the average blood pressure and pulse changed after removing Hidroclorotiazida. A positive number (in red) means the value went up, and a negative number (in green) means it went down. Systolic is the top number (pressure when the heart beats) and diastolic is the bottom number (pressure when the heart rests between beats).

Timeline

What am I looking at?

These charts show every blood pressure and pulse reading over time. The blue dots are measurements taken while on the original medication (with Hidroclorotiazida), and the orange dots are after the change. The dashed lines show a 3-reading moving average to highlight the underlying trend. The red dashed vertical line marks the date the medication was changed (Feb 12). Horizontal colored lines show clinically relevant thresholds. Look for trends or shifts after the medication change.

Distribution Comparison

What am I looking at?

These box plots compare the spread of values before and after the medication change. The box shows where the middle 50% of readings fall. The line inside the box is the median (the "typical" value). The whiskers extend to the lowest and highest values. If the boxes are at different heights, it means the typical readings shifted. A taller box means more variability in the measurements.

Statistics

What am I looking at?

A numerical summary of the measurements for each period. Mean is the average value. Std (standard deviation) tells you how much the readings vary — a higher number means more fluctuation. Min and Max are the lowest and highest readings recorded. Median is the middle value when all readings are sorted, and is less affected by occasional extreme readings than the mean.

BP Classification (AHA)

What am I looking at?

Each measurement is classified according to the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines: Normal (below 120/80), Elevated (120-129 systolic with diastolic below 80), Stage 1 Hypertension (130-139 systolic or 80-89 diastolic), and Stage 2 Hypertension (140+ systolic or 90+ diastolic). The charts show what proportion of readings fall into each category for each medication period. A shift toward green (Normal) is favorable.

By Time of Day

What am I looking at?

Blood pressure naturally varies throughout the day. This table groups readings by time of day (Morning: 6-12h, Afternoon: 12-18h, Night: 18-6h) so you can see if the medication change affected certain times more than others. The ± value shows how much readings vary within that time period.

Statistical Significance (T-test)

What am I looking at?

This test answers the question: "Is the difference between the two periods real, or could it be due to normal day-to-day variation?" The p-value is the probability that the observed difference happened by chance. If p < 0.05, the difference is considered statistically significant, meaning it is unlikely to be coincidental. If p ≥ 0.05, we cannot confidently say the medication change caused a real difference with this amount of data.

Daily Averages

What am I looking at?

When multiple readings are taken on the same day, they are averaged into a single value per day. This provides a cleaner view of day-to-day blood pressure trends, smoothing out the variability that can occur between individual measurements taken minutes apart.

Note: This is a descriptive analysis with limited data points. The "after" period (15 measurements over 2026-02-12 to 2026-02-20) is relatively short. Longer monitoring is recommended for definitive conclusions. Always consult your physician for medical decisions.
